James Posso,el promotor corrupto de turismo, el mismo que fuera cuestionado por sus estafas a distintas municipalidades del país a quienes embaucó con el cuento de las fotografías es nada menos que el actual promotor turístico de AUTOCOLCA quien fué contratado a dedo por el actual alcalde de la provincia de Caylloma Elmer Caceres Llica quien se desempeña como Presidente del directorio de AUTOCOLCA.

A este circo de traidores se une nada menos que el Presidente del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa Dr Juan Manuel Guillén Benavides quien en más de una oportunidad juró y rejuró ante los distintos medios de comunicación que trabajaría por el desarrollo de Arequipa a quien lo vemos ahora unirse al circo de los corruptos.

Lo que el Presidente del Gobierno regional de Arequipa ignora es que este promotor turístico miserable y camaleónico llamado James Jesus Posso Sánchez fué mucho más antes promotor turístico de la Municipalidad Provincial de Espinar a la que estafó vilmente con el cuento del "atlas fotográfico de Espinar" sobre el que nos explicará mejor James Posso en el siguiente artículo.

Creemos honestamente que el Pdte del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa se pasó de estúpido al darle al delincuente James Jesús Posso Sánchez su auspicio económico para la realización de un libro de pacotilla que en nada contribuye a la promoción turística del Cañón del Colca y si al enriquecimiento ilícito del alcalde corrupto de la provincia de Caylloma Elmer Cáceres Llica y de su promotor turístico ,el ladrón llamado James Jesús Posso Sánchez.

Las siguientes declaraciones fueron hechas por James Jesus Posso Sánchez a la periodista Maria de los Angeles Espejo de EL DIARIO DEL CUSCO www.diariodelcusco.com el 27 de diciembre del 2010. En estas declaraciones que transcribimos a continuación se encuentran disponibles en el internet las mismas que constituyen una prueba fidedigna de que este delincuente NO PUEDE TRABAJAR EN NINGUNA INSTITUCIÓN AREQUIPEÑA Y MUCHO MENOS EN AUTOCOLCA! El pueblo de Caylloma rechaza enérgicamente al corrupto James Posso y exige a sus autoridades y especialmente al Presidente del Gobierno regional de Arequipa Dr Juan Manuel Guillén Benavides a poner fin a la corrupción en Arequipa y a declarar NO GRATO A AREQUIPA al promotor traidor James Posso por estar en contra de los intereses de Arequipa.

Los corruptos presentan el libro del Colca en La Municipalidad de Arequipa.

El corrupto promotor turístico descubre los paneles fotográficos pertenecientes al Gobierno Regional de Cusco los mismos que se usaron para colocar las fotografías de James Posso.

Elmer Cáceres llica declara ante los periodistas ante la mirada hipócrita del farsante James Posso quien hizo su agosto con las fotografias del Colca.

Unido al circo de los traidores,el Dr Juan Manuel Guillén Benavides recibe ansiosamente el libro auspiciado por su institución. Lo que no sabe es que ha sido hecho por el traidor James Posso quien hizó un libro similar en Espinar a fin de organizar una campaña en contra del proyecto Majes Siguas II.

A continuación leamos las declaraciones hechas por James Posso al Diario del Cusco el 27 de Diciembre del 2010,las mismas que transcribimos a continuación.

Hay que dejar la zona de los tres cañones tal como está», es la frase que engloba el mensaje del libro Espinar: La otra maravilla del Cusco escrito y documentado fotográficamente por un equipo de profesionales y técnicos encabezados por el Ing. James Posso Sánchez Presidente de la Asociación Ñan Peru.

«Tres cañones, tiene una biodiversidad única en el mundo, no existe otra geología igual en el mundo y precisamente ese fue el motivo que nos impulso a concretar este libro», afirma el Ingeniero Geógrafo que trabajó en la zona durante dos años y llegó, desde un ángulo un tanto distinto, a la misma conclusión y certeza que todos los cusqueños: ¡No! al proyecto Majes Siguas II.

Y es que no solamente se trata del derecho de la población a cuidar y preservar el agua para su sobrevivencia y también para su desarrollo, sino se trata de conservar la belleza paisajística que la naturaleza a formado en esta zona y cuyo protagonista central es precisamente el río que discurre por toda la cuenca.

Para nuestro entrevistado el río es parte fundamental del paisaje.

«Nosotros debemos hablar de un entorno natural no solamente el aspecto arqueológico, sino su naturaleza y si esta naturaleza es el río, pues dejémoslo en su forma natural», sostuvo.

El profesional se preguntó, ¿qué dirían en Arequipa si al famoso Cañón del Colca le quitamos un 70% del agua?, ¿Qué sería de ese cañón?, ¿irían los turistas?, ¿sería el atractivo turístico que es hoy? «Entonces pensemos que la zona de Tres Cañones tiene los mismos derechos».

La Asociación Civil Ñan Perú se dedica todo lo que significa actividad turística y medio ambiente, anteriormente realizaron los estudios del cañón de Cotahuasi que permitió su declaratoria como área protegida.

El objetivo en este caso es precisamente el mismo, lograr que la zona de tres cañones sea declarada como área protegida. «Por ejemplo hemos encontrado cantidad de flores, desde 3 milímetros hasta los tamaños que todos conocemos, hemos registrado 180 variedades que nadie conoce», dijo aunque precisó que modificar el cauce del río no las afecta directamente.

Sin embargo existen en el mismo cañón los denominados polilepis o queñuales que se verían afectados por el proyecto Majes Siguas porque se hallan en las mismas márgenes del río.

Un área protegida en un caso como este, implica el factor paisajístico como único y exclusivo argumento que lo sustentaría y lógicamente este concepto implica todo lo que contribuye a denominarlo como atractivo turístico, mover o cambiar una pieza es alterar el monumento natural.

«El paisaje único que tiene este lugar lo forman el cañón y su entorno, asimismo su biodiversidad y la zonas arqueológicas se traducen en los argumentos para poder hacer que esta zona sea protegida», dijo.

Este libro que se transforma en un documento que sustentará la posición del Cusco frente a Majes Siguas II, será entregado a los ministros de Estado, a los congresistas con la finalidad de que conozcan la maravilla que tiene Espinar y que pretende ser alterada por un proyecto que debió ser concebido con la participación de todos los afectados.

James Posso recordó la existencia de un proyecto de ley en el Congreso Nacional que busca declarar de interés turístico a toda la provincia, «lamentablemente el proyecto ha sido encarpetado y lo que buscamos es por ejemplo re- impulsarlo y para ello el libro es un documento de sustentación importante».

Sin embargo hay que señalar que de ser aprobada esta ley esta zona no sería intangible puesto que las reservas naturales pueden ser explotadas según las normas peruanas. Sin embargo la explotación tiene que darse en beneficio de las comunidades de la zona.

«Pese a ello lo bueno que se lograría de conseguirse ello, es la rigurosidad del Ministerio del Ambiente y el Ministerio de Energía y Minas ante actividad minera y explotación de recursos hídricos», puntualizó.

I was reading Trip Advisor just few minutes ago and I saw this comments which I consider very useful so I decided to republish them here.

What is happening with travel agencies in Arequipa? It seems that they just care about filling their vans and buses with lots of tourists! What about the service? What about the clients?

It seems to me that these guys from Colonial Tours they just care about making money and not about the tourists.

Tourists are clients. Without them Colonial Tours is nothing.

Tourist are human beings not walking US DOLLARS notes.They are not walking credit cards my friends so it would be better if you recognize that your service is not good.

If you want to continue in this businness better think it twice because if you continue working the same way you will end on the street.

If you have problems with the tour guides is because you are cheap and stingy. Colonial Tours don´t have good tour guides because they are exploited and not well paid. That´s the main problem in Arequipa. Travel agencies don´t work with professional tour guides but with youngsters who need to work.Exploitation is everywhere in Southamerica. Peru in not the exception. Corruption is another disease that affects tourism in Arequipa too.

How good can be a 23 year old tour guide who has NO EXPERIENCE?

How good can be a 23 year old tour guide who is thinking about making a 10 soles commission per passenger?

How good can be a tour guide who is NOT FROM THE AREA who just know local discoteques and touristic restaurants?

To be a tourist doesn´t mean to be stupid!

As tourists we need to be sustainable too. We should NOT travel with companies that are just exploiting their workers!

Besides the voice of tourists should be heard too. Clients in the past they complained and their voices were never heard but thanks to internet the voice of the clients can be heard very loud all around the world. The compalints are a good oportunity to see what is wrong with our service in order to improve it. The decision is in your hands.

Complaint against Colonial Tours (taken from Trip Advisor)

We booked our 2-day trip to Colca Canyon Through our hotel and the company They Used WAS Colonial Tours. The canyon itself is well worth seeing but I am sure the experience could have been a lot better with a more professional company.

Right from the start it was clear that our guide wasn't going to speak much English, although the tour was supposed to be both in Spanish and English.
Luckily we understood some Spanish but I have to say that even then his commentaries and instructions weren't that clear.

All the way through the trip, he failed to tell us at each stop where we were; how long we were stopping for; what was worth seeing in the place; etc. 

Basically there was a complete lack of communication.During the 2 days, we learned hardly anything about the area.  He only bothered to say something if someone asked a question and even then the question wasn't repeated and the answer very vague.We approached the guide and told him that we felt completely ignored and weren't very happy about the tour.

This made no difference. Colca Canyon was an amazing place and I would definitely return to the area. However, I will never use Colonial Tours again! Esta crítica es la opinión subjetiva de un miembro de TripAdvisor, no de TripAdvisor LLC.

“Colca Canyon with Colonial Tours - Not recommended”

Our hostal in Arequipa (Colonial House Inn) set up a Colca Canyon tour with Colonial Tours. We had a very negative experience with Colonial Tours and I would not recommend them to anyone. We feel that we wasted our S/65 plus the S/35 required to enter the Chivay area. (Total = S/100 per person.)

Leo, our guide, made us feel like he could not be bothered speaking English since we were two of the few English speakers on the tour. The tour we were sold was supposed to include a 2 hour trek in Coporaque on the first day, which our guide felt was too much effort. (Instead, we stopped no less than 6 times on the way out to Chivay including a 45+ minute stop for snacks and tea at a restaurant. Granted a couple of the stops were decent, such as when we stopped to see Vicunas, but many of them were unnecessary.) Leo seemed much more interested in trying to get us to eat at overpriced (S/25) buffet restaurants for both lunch and dinner and I wouldn't be surprised if he was getting a cut of the profits. We did at least go to the hot springs in the afternoon (which cost another S/10 per person).

Rather than getting our group going at 6am so we could have as much time at the canyon as possible, he moved our start time to 7am. (His rationale was that it was New Year's Eve and some people wanted to stay up till midnight. It was obvious his bias was a later start time and he only seemed willing to listen to the people who agreed with him rather than sticking with the tour schedule that was sold to us.) The later start time made us late arriving at at Cruz del Condor and cut our time there in half. We then returned for another overpriced lunch (S/25) in Chivay.

Of the 4 hours we were most interested in (2 hours trekking and 2 hours at Cruz del Condor), the tour only delivered 1 hour at Colca Canyon itself. We felt ripped off at having to pay a S/35 fee at the entrance to Chivay when 90% of our tour was shelling out money to overpriced restaurants in Chivay itself.

If I were to redo things, I'd head straight for Cabanaconde (dodging the S/35 fee at Chivay) and set up a hiking excursion there. Note that the Colca Canyon at Cruz del Condor is only 1200 meters. Compare that to the 1800 meter depth of the Grand Canyon and you might be a bit disappointed. The deepest part of the Colca Canyon (4160 meters) is near Cabaconde, so I suspect the views from there are more impressive.

Colonial Tours: is it good as the Trip Advisor says?

Colonial Tours is a travel agency that it is recommended in several travel guidebooks and be sure that if the Colca Specialist pays 500 US to the representatives of these travel guidebooks I would appear in them.

If the Colca Specialist appears one day in one guidebook it would be thanks to the work well done with each one of our clients and not because I payed 500 US to appear in the guidebook.

Well, there are many travel agencies in Arequipa and just a few ones are responsible enough with their clients.

Colonial Tours is a travel agency which has enough experience in these kind of tours in Colca Canyon but it is not the best. There are many complaints against this travel agency which became famous because of car accidents, because of being late all time and because of having poorly paid tour guides who have no insurance, nothing.

What kind of responsible tourism is this that the tour guides are poorly paid and have no insurance?

Now we understand why the tour guides are eager to take their clients to the touristic restaurants in order to get commissions.
There are many tour guides whose English is chaotic and whose knowledge is very poor. It is because the travel agency he or she works with is not responsible enough with their workers. If they are not responsible with their workers you can easily realize that they don´t care about their clients.

If these guys would be properly paid they would have money to improve their languages and update their knowledge. If they would be paid properly they wouldn´t have to travel everyday in order to cover basic needs ,neither to show their bored faces to the clients.

In order to make it in tourism you should have a vocation of service. If you don´t have it is simple: you won´t be successful in this business.

Travel agencies should be responsible with their workers and with the people and the environment of the places you visit. That is called sustainable tourism.

As tourists we should have to be responsible too and we should avoid buying tours to companies that don´t practice sustainable tourism. In that way we would collaborate with the development of the areas we visit.

Another funny thing is to see web page of the different travel agencies in Arequipa. 90 percent of them say that the do social work and that they are involved in volunteering programs. Volunteering programs have to be checked carefully. Lots of lies.

Don´t believe those travel agencies that tell you that tips are included in the tour price because they will never arrive to your guides hands. If you want to tip your tour guide because of the good service provided, do it, but you don´t have to tip in advance.

As part of the propaganda many travel agencies from Arequipa put pictures of children of Colca Canyon who supposedly are being helped with the money from donations ,but when you find out you discover that nothing was done with your donations. The same situation happens in Puno.

Many travel agencies from Puno use donations for their own purposes and the donations never arrive to their destiny. Careful with those mystic associations or travel agencies who are sending fake Incas to United States in order to perform condor sacred dances that are fake,dances that nobody knows, not even the most famous peruvian historians or anthropologists. None of these groups are guaranteed by INC (National Cultural Institute of Peru).

The sacred music they play is the music we hear in restaurants everyday, music that most of Peruvians hate, because the same songs are played in all the touristic restaurants you visit. The fake Incas collect money in order to keep the last inca survivors alive and when you ask their names and surnames both are Spanish! Funny right?

Only an innocent could believe those stories. The donations for the children never arrive to their destiny and with the money obtained they buy cars or motorcycles. The fake Incas are musicians who have a deal with esoteric travel agencies from Puno. Next time I will write more about that with more details. The Colca Specialist became a Mythbuster!

Well, travel guidebooks have to be serious with their job and have to inform their clients properly.

If the clients are complaining against the bad service of a specific company, write to that company you are recommending in your travel guidebook and suggest them to improve their service. By the contrary, the clients will realize that the info provided in the guidebook was wrong and they won´t advice their friends to buy your travel guidebooks.

There are many travel agencies in Arequipa that need to improve their services. In the internet you can find all the information about them and there are a lot of complaints against Colonial Tours in web pages and blogs done in english and Spanish languages. Colonial Tours needs to improve its service quality and to solve its problems with its workers in order to be a good responsible travel agency from Arequipa.

If a worker has a problem,the company has a problem too. If the workers don´t work properly the clients satisfaction will be affected and your business can go bankrupt the less expected moment.

Is Trip Advisor reliable enough? I don´t think so.
