Cadáver de John Barrientos fue hallado en el volcán Misti

Rescatistas parten hoy al volcán para la recuperación del cuerpo del joven desaparecido.

Son las 08:30 de la mañana y un grupo de rescatistas de la Unidad de Salvamento y Alta Montaña acompañados por el famoso rescatista Eloy Cacya se encuentra listo para partir hacia el volcán Misti en cuyas laderas perdiera la vida el joven ingeniero de sistemas John Barrientos quien fuera declarado como desaparecido en el volcán Misti hace unos 60 días. 

Según Eloy Cacya el cuerpo de John Barrientos se halla ubicado en un barranco ubicado en el lado izquierdo del volcán en un área caracterizada por la presencia de abismos y por ser una zona agreste. La comitiva estará compuesta por los rescatistas de la USAM, el guía de montaña Eloy Cacya así como el Fiscal de turno y los peritos encargados de hacer el levantamiento de cadáver. 

La madre del joven ingeniero de sistemas entre lágrimas y sollozos agradeció a los rescatistas así como al guía de montaña y rescatista Eloy Cacya por haber hallado el cuerpo de su querido hijo. El cuerpo del joven será recuperado el día de hoy y será trasladado a la Morgue de Arequipa para la correspondiente necropsia de ley. Asimismo se harán los peritajes correspondientes a fin de determinar si es que existe responsabilidad legal por parte de sus amigos que lo acompañaron en aquel fatídico viaje. Lo extraño es que el joven John se haya desviado del camino original para ingresar a un área prácticamente inaccesible del volcán Misti.

Asimismo los rescatistas solicitaron a las autoridades la fiscalización correspondiente a los operadores turísticos y guías informales  que vienen haciendo de las suyas en la Región Arequipa. Esperamos que el Gerente de Comercio Exterior y Turismo Lic Miguel Apaza peña y la Fiscalía tomen las medidas correspondientes para fiscalizar a los informales especialmente en las fiestas de Arequipa en las que los jóvenes acostumbran a hacer ascensos al volcán Misti acompañados por orientadores y guías informales que non cuentan con experiencia alguna en el guidismo de montaña.

Operadores turísticos capitalinos cancelan reservas en hospedajes y restaurantes en Chivay debido a su alta peligrosidad. El reconocido empresario cayllomino Grover Muñoz Prado (61) dueño del hotel y restaurante turístico "La Pascana" en Chivay, capital de la provincia de Caylloma, hoy fue encontrado sin vida en su habitación.

El hallazgo fue hecho al promediar las 7:00 horas por una trabajadora, quien al ingresar a su habitación lo encontró sobre la cama; sus pies y manos estaban amarrados con una soga y presentaba un corte en el cuello. Inmediatamente la joven acudió a la comisaría del lugar a poner en conocimiento el hecho.

En estos momentos solo se espera la presencia de los peritos de criminalística de la PNP, para que el Ministerio Público ordene el levantamiento del cuerpo.

El empresario era muy querido en zona, siempre estaba alegre y era muy cordial. Se conoció además que él se encontraba solo y dormía en una de las habitaciones de su hotel. Su familia se encontraba en la ciudad de Arequipa.

Actualmente se realizan las investigaciones sobre este asesinato que consternó al pueblo de Chivay.

El empresario hotelero y concesionario de una empresa de Courier en Chivay provincia de Caylloma identificado como Grover Muñoz Prado de 61 años, fue hallado muerto esta mañana en el interior de su vivienda.

El sexagenario propietario del hotel y restaurante “La Pascana” ubicado en la calle Puente Inca 103 de la zona de Urinsaya en Chivay, fue hallado sobre su cama con las manos y pies atados y con un profundo corte en el cuello.

Una de las empleadas que llegó a laborar como de costumbre, fue quien halló el cuerpo dando parte de inmediato a la policía, iniciándose las investigaciones del caso, se conoce que efectivos de criminalística de la ciudad de Arequipa viajarán a la zona.

En este conocido hotel es donde se hospedaba Ciro Castillo Rojo, padre del joven hallado muerto en el valle del Colca, tras meses de búsqueda.

Atado de pies  y manos y con un profundo corte en el cuello fue hallado sobre su cama el empresario hotelero Grover Muñoz Prado, de 61 años, en Chivay, provincia de Caylloma, Arequipa.

El cadáver de quien fuera dueño del hotel y restaurante ‘La Pascana’, situado en la zona de Urinsaya en Chivay, fue encontrado esta mañana por una trabajadora del inmueble. Allí se hospedó el doctor Ciro Castillo Rojo durante los meses que se desarrolló la búsqueda de su hijo, Ciro Castillo, en el Valle del Colca.

La víctima también era concesionario de una empresa de Courier en Chivay, según informó RPP. Personal de Criminalística de Arequipa realizará las pesquisas en torno a este crimen.

Según las investigaciones Grover Muñoz quien había sido Pdte del Patronato del Colca habría sido asesinado en un claro ajuste de cuentas por sicarios.

El caso fue develado por una de sus empleadas, quien se apersonó a trabajar esta mañana extrañándole no ser recibida por su empleador, razón por la que lo buscó en el hostal y lo halló en su habitación en las condiciones ya descritas.

Muñoz Prado, también era representante de la empresa Olva Courier y estaba muy vinculado al turismo.

Informality is the main problem in Arequipa. The Colca Specialist denounced the presence of informal mountainclimbing guides and authorities do nothing in order to solve the problem.

Cristian Enriquez Garcia was a profesional tour guide who two months ago before his death he finished his studies and he graduated as an oficial tour guide in San Agustin University in Arequipa.

Cristian comes from a family with limited economical resources so since he was a young boy he worked very hard doing different things in order to collect some money for his studies.

Her had a strong passion for the mountains and nature and he worked several times as a porter for mountainclimbing groups in Arequipa.

Quechua Exploring High Mountains SRL is a travel agency dedicated to mountainclimbing and outdoors activities in Arequipa. Its owner is TEMISTOCLES IVAN JIMENEZ GUZMAN who is a profesional mountainclimbing guide in Arequipa.

Quechua Exploring High Mountains Travel Agency is very well known because it has the monopoly of mountainclimbing in Arequipa and it has turned into the main mountainclimbing operator in our city.

The owner of this travel agency offers strong commisions to all the travel agencies that endorse their clients to his travel agency and their clients are travel agencies like Colonial Tours, Acuarius Travel among others.

Because of this situation and because of the free market the prices of the mountainclimbing tours are very low so the owners of different travel agencies like QUECHUA EXPLORING HEIGHTS SRL don´t hire profesional mountainclimbing guides but youngsters who are trying to make it in this society. These corrupted travel agencies hire students who are easy to exploit the way they want without insurance without a salary,people who cannot complain ,people who work in very poor conditions because they need the money in order to survive.

Travel agencies like this don´t hire profesional mountainclimbers because they are expensive for them. How can be possible that a bottle of good pisco is more expensive than a mountainclimbing tour to Misti volcano? These unconciouss travel agencies don´t care about the safety of their clients.

Quechua Exploring High Mountains  SRL according to the investigations done by the police they had several accidents on Misti Volcano and this time the situation became worst because the guide they hired died on the mountain.

Cristian Enriquez according to the investigations was a profesional conventional tour guide but he was not a profesional mountainclimbing guide. Quechua Exploring high mountains sent him to the volcano by force because according to the Cristian´s mom he received a phone call of the travel agency and he was told he head to climb the volcano with 2 spanish tourists.

Cristian told them they couldn´t go because he had a a problem with the leg ligaments and Norma Jimenez sister of Ivan Jimenez said If you don´t go you are fired! And now we see the results.

According to the reports Cristian was found by ROY ROMERO PORTUGAL another person WHO IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAINCLIMBING GUIDE. He was guiding other two spanish tourists on Misti volcano,tourists who bought the tour with EDU TRAVEL whose owner is EDUARDO FERMIN RIVAS VARGAS who is very well known in Arequipa as the “jewish” because of his crappy 100% poor quality tours WITH INFORMAL TOUR GUIDES.

On 27 of November at 06:15 pm aprox. According to the reports of the clients they heard a voice asking for help. They left their tents and they found their “guide” next to the body of Cristian who was still alive. The “fake guide mountainclimbing guide ” Roy Romero Portugal took the agonizing guide with the help of the clients and he was taken to the base camp number 1 where they were camping.

ROY ROMERO PORTUGAL didn´t call the police but the travel agency QUECHUA EXPLORING HIGH MOUNTAINS . The travel agency organized a rescue team integrated by his own workers and they arrived to the base campament 4 hours after when the guide Cristian died.

The authorities of tourism are trying to cover the death of the student paying money to the press but there are several good periodists who are investigating the situation.

RESPONSABILITIES

According to the law THE TRAVEL AGENCY QUECHUA EXPLORING HIGH MOUNTAINS is the main responsable for hiring STUDENTS AND NOT PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAINCLIMBING GUIDES WHICH PUTS IN DANGER THE LIFE OF THE TOURISTS AND THE LIFE OF THE PERSON WHO IS WORKING AS A GUIDE.

The other respoonsible is ROY ROMERO PORTUGAL who is not a profesional mountainclimbing guide along with the travel agency EDU TRAVEL.

ROY ROMERO PORTUGAL is responsable because he didn´t call the police and he didn´t help Cristian to survive because he had to take agonizing guide down from base campament. He didn´t do it BECAUSE HE IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOUNTAINCLIMBING GUIDE AND BECAUSE HE DOESN´T KNOW THE RULES OF MOUNTAINCLIMBING GUIDES IN PERU which say very clear that the mountainclimbing guide in case of accident he should leave the clients in the base camp and he has to organize the rescue of the affected tourists or person inmediately.

Safety and Security - Terrorism

The internal terrorism of the 1980s and 1990s in Peru has largely ended, but not completely disappeared. Remnants of the Shining Path terrorist movement are still active in the some of the main coca growing areas in central Peru (Alto Huallaga, Aguaytia and Apurimac-Ene VRAE river basins). There is an underlying threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers.

Safety and Security - Crime

Street crime, including muggings and thefts, is a significant problem in Lima, Cusco, Arequipa and other major cities. You should remain vigilant at all times and avoid walking alone in quiet areas or at night. Provincial and Inter-city buses are occasionally held up and the passengers robbed. Passport theft is common on inter-city buses. Keep your passport with you at all times during your bus journey and take particular care of valuable personal belongings when travelling on buses at night. You should take care when using web-cafes, restaurants and similar venues as thieves operate in places where people are easily distracted.

You should be particularly careful when arriving at Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport. Unwary passengers are often approached by thieves masquerading as tour operators, people who pretend to know them or by bogus taxi drivers. Rogue taxis have frequently been used to perpetrate robberies. You should use the services of one of three official companies located at desks directly outside the International and Domestic Arrival halls. Visit the Lima Airport Partner website which gives details of airport registered taxi companies. Tourists have been targeted and robbed by bogus taxi drivers, especially at night, and when travelling to and from bus terminals, airports and the main tourist areas of Lima, Cusco and Arequipa. Wherever possible you should use a taxi registered at the bus terminal or from a reputable company, such as those that can be booked by radio. If possible book these in advance from a hotel reception desk or by telephone. If you cannot avoid taking a taxi from the street, be sure to take a conspicuous note of the registration number before getting into the vehicle. Be wary of taxi drivers offering cheaper than normal fares which is often a lure for a robbery (hotels can advise you on the standard fare to airports etc if you must get a street taxi). If you have luggage, you should not take a station wagon cab where your luggage can be seen, as it attracts robbers, who use mobile phones to advise accomplices to hold up the cab and rob you further along the road. Never leave your luggage in the cab with the driver behind the wheel. There have been incidents where passengers have got out with their luggage still either in the cab or boot and the driver has driven off. Wait for the driver to stop the engine and get out first. Be aware of the risk of "express kidnappings" - short-term, opportunistic abductions, aimed at extracting cash from the victim. Victims are held while criminals empty their bank accounts with the stolen cash cards: sometimes they are escorted to the ATMs by the robbers. Once the cards have been used the victim is usually quickly released. These have occurred in the main tourist areas in Peru, including Lima, Cusco and Arequipa; they also occur on the routes to and from airports and bus terminals, kidnappers working on the assumption that tourists will have all their cards with them at such times.

There have been a number of cases in the past few years of female tourists being raped and killed. Most have taken place in the Cusco and Arequipa areas, but cases have occurred elsewhere too, in places such as Mancora, Pucallpa and Lima. A recent case occurred in Cusco city in July 2011. Be alert to the availability and possible use of ‘date rape’ and other drugs. You should purchase your own drinks and keep sight of them at all times to make sure they cannot be spiked. If you are in a bar and don’t feel well, try to seek help from people you know. Women should take particular care at bus terminals, when hiring or getting into taxis, and avoid isolated areas particularly after dark.

Unlike in the UK and elsewhere, ATM machines in Peru do not always automatically release your credit or debit card at the time you receive your money. You sometimes have to request its return by pushing a button. Many ATMs in main towns have instructions in English.

Local protests are common and often involve closure of roads and occasionally cause disruption to airports and rail services. Protests in Puno can sometimes result in the closure of the border crossing with Bolivia. You should maintain contact with your airline/ tour operator before travelling. Visitors should be aware of the heightened risk to their safety in regions where there is intensive coca cultivation. You could well be at especially high risk in the vicinity of cocaine processing labs and in areas where terrorists are based, particularly in the Alto Huallaga, Aguaytia, and Apurimac-Ene (VRAE) river basins. You can drive for up to sixth months in Peru on a UK driving licence and up to one year on an International Driving Permit. In either case, you should carry your passport with you to prove how long you have been in the country.

Travel by private vehicle outside major cities is not recommended after dark. Driving standards in Peru are poor, with stop signs and traffic lights often ignored. Crashes resulting in death and injury occur frequently. Drivers do not always show concern for pedestrians.

Bus crashes are commonplace, especially at night. Inter-city bus crashes have resulted in loss of life and serious injury. You should use only reputable transport companies, and where possible avoid overnight travel, especially in mountainous and remote regions. Hikers walking the Inca Trail should go with a guided group. To protect natural resources along the Inca Trail, the Peruvian government charges fees for hiking the trail and there are restrictions on the numbers of hikers permitted on it. Hikers during the high season (June–August) are advised to make reservations for the Inca Trail well in advance via a travel agency. Visitors should always register when entering national parks and should be particularly careful in steep or slippery areas which are neither fenced nor marked. Several climbers have died or suffered serious injuries after falling while climbing Huayna Picchu, a peak near Machu Picchu.There were many tourist who died in Huayna Pichu but the peruvian press doesn´t publish info about the accidents.Be careful. Only very basic medical assistance is available at Machu Picchu.

Hikers walking the Colca Trails should travel with a guided group which is recommended in case you have any kind of problem on the way. In the last months there were many accidents and deaths reported in Colca Canyon provoked by fake tour guides who have not a professional ID card. Be careful and avoid very cheap tour operators which work with illegal tour guides. Before taking buying the tours ask for the tour guide´s ID card and name if it possible.

Visitors should avoid buying tours on the streets. “jaladores” are locals who offer tours on the streets of Arequipa at very cheap prices and then the next day they disappear. If you have any kind of problem you should report it to the touristic police station in Arequipa. They will gladly help you to solve your problems. There are many hotels who offer you the service but it is not recommended to buy tours in the hotels because they are not tour operators and they will charge you an extra quantity of money for the same service.

Commissions are one of the main problems in Colca Canyon. Tour guides are asking for abusive commissions to local restaurants and to pack drivers of mules in Colca Canyon. If you are planning to rent a mule to take you out of the Colca Canyon you better talk directly to the owner so in that way you avoid for paying an extra price for the service.

Mountainbiking in Arequipa is another good option for your holidays. The most well known mountainbiking circuit in Arequipa is Downhill Pichu-Pichu and there are many visitors who choose this option tour because of its safety and because of its variety of landscapes on the way which are not seen in Chachani volcano circuit. Two Australian tourists were killed white water rafting in 2010.

British nationals are advised to travel in groups when walking along the banks of Lake Titicaca. A British National was held at gun point and robbed in early 2011. You should exercise caution at all times and contact the local tourist information centre for advice about known safe zones on the banks of the lake.

Local authorities advise against travelling alone at night in the Desaguadero area on the Peru / Bolivia border at the southern end of Lake Titicaca.

You should take account of the serious risk involved in flying over the Nazca Lines. On 2 October 2010 a light aeroplane crashed at the Lines killing all six people on board, four of them British nationals. There have been a number of fatal accidents and emergencies at Nazca over the years, including in 2011. In February 2010 a plane carrying Chilean and Peruvian tourists over the Nazca Lines crashed, killing all seven people on board. In April 2008 five French nationals were killed when the aeroplane they were flying in to view the Lines crashed. Past accident investigations have shown that necessary aircraft safety and maintenance standards were not being implemented. We have no reason to believe that proper safety and maintenance standards are now being reliably adhered to.

Choferes ebrios intentan abusar sexualmente de guia de turismo en Chivay

La informalidad,el desorden,la inercia de nuestras autoridades representativas del sector turismo y en especial del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa,Autocolca,Directur y la Municipalidad de la Provincia de Caylloma ha sido la causa principal de toda la crisis en la que se encuentra el sector turismo de Arequipa. En lo que va de esta parte del año la muerte de la turista brasilera Paula Sibov ha causado la consternación del turismo mundial y ahora nos damos cuenta de que la informalidad nos sigue pasando la cuenta.Pero no sólo es la informalidad la que nos pasa la factura sino también el mal comportamiento de algunos malos elementos del sector turismo cuyos comportamientos delincuenciales dañan la imagen del turismo en la provincia de Caylloma.

El dia 30 de julio,La srta R.R.V orientadora turística de la Asociación de Guias de Turismo de la Provincia de Caylloma fue víctima no sólo de acoso sexual y hostigamiento de trabajo por parte de los conductores de la empresa MARCHELO E.I.R.L Y VENEZIA TRAVELS : Rogger Tejada y Richard Chipana, los mismos que acosaron sexualmente a la orientadora turística en una habitación del hotel LOS PORTALES II en la que se encontraban libando licor.

Según las informaciones ,la orientadora turística fue contratada por el operador turístico identificado con el nombre de Ronald Pillco a fin de que le proporcione el servicio de guiado turístico a uno de sus tres grupos.
Según la orientadora turística , en el trayecto, el chofer delincuente Rogger Tejada empezó a acosar sexualmente a la guia de turismo y hacerle propuestas indecentes amenazándo con denunciarla por abandono de grupo y mal servicio de guiado turístico ante el pseudo operador turístico Ronald Pillco.

Una vez en Chivay y después de haberse instalado en el hotel los choferes Rogger Tejada y Richard Chipana compraron licor y junto a dos guias informales de turismo, una de ellas pariente de los propietarios del Hotel Los Portales II Maria y Vilma Taco, hicieron ingreso a la habitación que compartían con la guia de turismo y junto a los conductores empezaron a libar licor y a acosarla sexualmente de forma agresiva.

Al verse en peligro la guia de turismo se escapó de dicho lugar y denunció este hecho ante el secretario de la asociación de guias de Caylloma que se encontraba en Chivay, el mismo que verificó dicha situación.
Al día siguiente Rogger Tejada y Richard Chipana,quienes todavía se encontraban en estado etílico se dirigieron en sus unidades a la Cruz del Cóndor en donde le hicieron un escándalo a la guia de turismo por no haber aceptado sus propuestas sexuales,siendo esta situación presenciada por sus compañeros guias de turismo asi como los turistas presentes en dicha área.
Al llegar a Arequipa, Rogger Tejada amenazó con hacerle daño si lo denunciaba ,hecho que ya es de conocimiento de las autoridades representativas del sector turismo de Arequipa como es el caso del Gobierno Regional de Arequipa, Dircetur,Cámara de Comercio Exterior y Turismo,Autocolca entre otros a fin de que sean las autoridades las mismas que tomen las medidas correpondientes.

Asimismo el Presidente de la Asociación de Guías de Turismo de la Provincia de Caylloma exigió al presidente del Gobierno regional de Arequipa Dr Juan Manuel Guillén Benavides y en especial al gerente de AUTOCOLCA a poner un alto a la terrible informalidad que se vienen dando en el sector turismo de Arequipa, informalidad que ha dado como resultado la muerte de la turista brasilera Paula Sibov quien murió en el Cañón del Colca, víctima de un guía de turismo informal de Arequipa y de la estafa de la agencia de viajes y turismo Southamerican Explorer,la que mandó a la joven turista a la muerte.

También la junta directiva de la Asociación de Guias de Turismo de Caylloma ha solicitado se inicie una investigación a la persona del Sr Ronald Pillco quien como se sabe es un operador turístico informal el mismo que según las autoridades de Dircetur no se encuentra autorizado para la venta ni operación de paseos turísticos entre otros.
Asimismo la Junta Directiva de dicha institución viene solicitando se le otorgen las facultades correspondientes a la Policia Nacional del Perú a fin de fiscalizar a través de operativos relámpago a estos malos conductores y guias informales cuyas borracheras perjudican la imagen del Cañón del Colca como atractivo turístico.
